I wud like to change some i/o performance indicators like buffer busy wait and others , Pl let me know the procedure for the same.

Before chngging any parameter regarding I./O. first concern with your OS Administrator. because these parameters are directly related to Hardware sizzing.
If it is possible then write in detail what r u require.

First of all you will need to figure out the cause of the bad I/O performance.
You will need to perform tests on OS-level to find out wether it's*
the disks
the controllers
the network
the file system layout
the load distribution
the operating system
a combination of any of the above
After you know what causes the bad I/O times you can decide on what measures you can and will afford to improve this.
