if i am not wrong...Schedule Delete Jobs helps you in deleting successful messages from SXMB_MONI

i already did that but the job gets CANCELED. i don't know why

not quite sure but when you delete a message the corresponding entry in SXMB_MONI is marked as Cancelled....a green tick-mark with a pencil...maybe it denotes a deleted message entry

Hi Xavier!

Are there running any other background jobs in your system? E.g. try to schedule a simple list report in background. Maybe you have not denied any/enough background processes on the machine where the jobs are scheduled.

Another reason might be that the user you use to schedule the jobs has not sufficient authority to do that.

Again: Please check Job Log and SM21 for entries/messages and report them here.

Volker

an user executing the deleting job needs to have adequate permission to do so....sometimes you can start the delete job but if you do not have full previleges the job gets cancelled automatically...check if same is the case with your user-id

now i know why the job is being cancelled. the abap report RSXMB_DELETE_MESSAGES has a runtime error. has anyone encountered runtime error SNAP_NO_NEW_ENTRY before?

SAP has a note for you:

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/17537

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/330243

There are 7 notes...just search with SNAP_NO_NEW_ENTRY and you will get the notes

the ABAP program only deletes messages that were processed successfully, not the ones with errors.
