Hi All,

I have re-installed ABAP trial recently but this is not helping, moreover - I was suprised to see

============== starting ABAP instance...

The Requested Service Has Already Been Started

because it was starting for the first time after instalation, so I guess it shoud not been started before.

By the way, which service is causing this message The Requested Service Has Already Been Started ?

Thanks and regards,

M.

Hi,

Just now I solved my problem by taking the following measures:

1. I reinstalled my operating system with Windows XP SP 3 English version this time. ( I used Windows XP SP 2 Chinese Version previously)

2. After installing WinXP, turn off the windows firewall, without any anti virus software installed and any third party firewall as well.

( Last time, i kept my anit virus software installed, exactly speaking, the Sophos, but at the time of installing SAP, there were several warnings displayed by Sophos, although i set them to accept, but i am not sure, if such things harmed the installation process.)

3. In the process of installing, keep connection to the Internet or with Loopback adapter installed previously.

After doing so, I have no problem to log on the system any more.!

Caution: Because this is not a formal trouble shooting solution. I am not sure, it is also helpful for you. But there are other people solving this problem by using the similar methods. You can search such topics in this forum!

Good luck this time!

Are you using DHCP on your pc? If so, that could be the cause of loop error. Please try to assign a static IP.

Hi,

I have configured MS LoopBack as described in installation manual.

localhost is pingable, it replies from 127.0.0.1

MYPCNAME is pingable also, it replies from 10.10.0.10

I tried to reinstall ABAP trial after I removed antivirus, but this did not help also...

Hi All,

are there any log files created during each session of starting ABAP trial?

I guess it would help at least to identify a problem...

Thanks,

Hi,

I too have run in the same problem.

It seems that when I use sapstart in cmd console there comes a timeout.

DBase and ABAP was started succesfull but then comes a timeout.

So the SAP system does not start succesfull completely.

Pings to localhost or loopback were succesfull.

Could SAP investigate this matter?

Thanks

Norman

With close inspection it seems that nothing can connect to msg_server.

Hmm...

Hi,

Did you install the MS Loopback adapter?

That could be the issue here.

Hi, I am new to ABAP programming. After installing the "SAP NetWeaver2004 ABAP trial" coming with the book APBA Ojects, I had exactly the same problem being discussed here! Have you solved your problem?

Hi Dong,

welcome to SDN !

Unfortunely I have not yet solved this problem...

When I try to start ABAP instance, it gives an error as described previuosly.

And when I try to stop ABAP instance, it gives the following:
