Hi,

When i acces the portal using server ip address (http://ip/irj/portal") instead of servername i am getting 404 error.

Do i have to do any setting to acess the portal using IP address?

Hi Srinivas

Try putting the port of your portal

http://<ip>:<port>/irj/portal

good luck

Once you get the login page you really should only access the portal via it's fully qualified domain name. This will help ensure that the SSO tickets that get created are correct and eliminate several other issues.

If i access through ip address, whenever i access a webdynpro it is giving a logon page instead of Webdynpro application.

Could you please help me on how to access the portal using ip address instead of servername?

Hi Nivas,

It gives you the logon page when you run your Web Dynpro application, is because you must have set the "sap.authentication" property as true.

Thanks,

If i access portal with server name (http://servername:80) i am not gettting any problem. But if i access the same portal with server ip (http://serverip:80) i am able to login sucessfully. After successfully login if i try to access any webdynpro applicatoin i am getting once again login page.

Do i have to do any settings to access the portal through IP address?

Hi,

I've a similar problem accessing the Web Reporting of my BW server. The problem is that we have a very heterogeneous network and establishing a global DNS entry is nearly impossible.

Is there no way to switch the session handling from cookies to URL encoding?

Any help is welcome!
