Basically APO having different sub module Like Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling, Global Availabe to promiss, Transport Planning & Vehical Scheduling.
If you have knowldge of SD then Demand Planning is really suitable for you. Because basically it related to Sales Data, generation of Demand Plan based on Sales History.
Even you can try some part of Global Availabe to promiss like back order processing.
