GRC 5.3 upgrade

Hi Experts,

I require your help.

We are in the process to upgrade GRC 5.2 to 5.3 for our client.

Existing installation is " GRC 5.2 Compliance Calibrator SP04, Firefighter SP03 on NW-SPS 12"

Client is using CC and FF, not other products of the GRC 5.2 ,as per upgrade guide separate upgrade in no longer done , upgrade to GRC 5.3 will done on all 4 products for GRC. Is there any impact on this.

Before going to 5.3, database backup is sufficient or we need to take backup of GRC 5.2 configuration , rule set and FF master data. If yes, then how we can take the backup of these.

Is there any other backups needed please let us know or upgrade will not change the existing configuration/master data.

Hi Mayank,

There is no impact of upgrading all the products in the SAP backend system. What SAP meant is, that when you upgrade the ABAP component of AC 5.3 (RTA), it will be upgraded to AC 5.3 RTA from AC 5.2 RTA. Then you will have FF (SPM) 5.3 and you will need to upgrade your Java front-end to move to CC (RAR) 5.3.

You can just take a direct database backup even though it is not required. It is recommended to take backup. AC 5.3 will convert all of your AC 5.2 data to AC 5.3.
