XI/PI installation

Hello folks

could someone tell me steps for XI/PI installastion in brief or a short article on how to install XI/PI. I would really appreciate it . I dont have idea about installation but need to do it soon or explain it.

Hi,

Requirement for XI installation: The XI installation is based on ABAP+J2E (WAS) architecture.

In brief we have to install the SDK (JDK Version 1.4.08 or above depending on XI or PI. PI needs JDK Version 1.5 update 6 or above)

Next,as usual Oracle 10i & patch, & then From Netweaver CD install ABAP engine.

Now you should take care that you do the CLIENT COPY after ABAP installation & then you should proceed for J2EE installation.

The client copy should not be done after J2EE installation as all the parameter for the j2e will point to the default client i.e. 000 & not the new client.

So you should enter the parameter "login\system_client"=New client , after system Copy.
