Locked printing feature on Ricoh printers

Former Member

Hello.

Does anybody know how can the "locked printing" or "hold printing" feature of Ricoh printers be enabled when printing from SAP applications?

This feature works fine from non-SAP applications: one can set a password for his print job, and then the printout is retained into the printer until the password is entered in the printer panel.

But all print jobs sent from SAP are directly printed.....

Thanks a lot for any suggestion.

Kind regards

Dino

Hi

There's a 'Lock Printer in SAP system' checkbox available when you select a printer(output device) from SPAD. It holds prints from SAP application sent to that printer if checked.

Hope this is what you're looking for, else please clarify.

What if you use method U to send the job to a print server first?

The used method is C.

My suggestion was to test using Method U via a print server to see if that solve the secure printing problem... Method C is local direct printing... Method U is remote printing.

Hi, thanks for your reply: the server are all WINDOWS 2003 : can the U protocol be used in this case?

Kind regards,

I thinks its worthy to give it a go. Printer in the Print Server should be enabled to use password protected printing.
