Using Webi Reporting on 0PROFIT_CTR from BW query - suppress compound obj

We are using Bus Obj XI 3.1 to report on BW profit centre accounting data via a universe based on a BW query. When our report developer tries to include profit centre keys in the report he cannot suppress the compound object value for the controlling area.

Eg profit centre is 12345 and controlling area is 1000 so key is displayed in Bus Obj as 1000/12345.

In a BW query by filtering the query on the controlling area to 1000 the profit centre key can be displayed as just 12345 so I'd hope to achieve then same in Business objects webi reports.

We are using complex groupings of centres in the webi report using variables so it will simplify the effort if the "1000/" of the compound object can be suppressed. We have tried combinations of both filtering directly in the query and in the webi report but the compounding display cannot be suppressed.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,

if you create a filter in the underlying BI query it will filter the data for WebI as well.

the key value for the compunded characteristic doesn't change, it will show both values as described by you.

what you could do in the Web Intelligence report is to basically to create a forumla dividing the value and then use the formula in the report

Thanks Ingo

Will just have to work around it as you suggest.

Hi, Is there any alternate solution other than using the formula variable to suppress the compound value. The issue when using the formula is that the measures are getting #UNAVAILABLE and I can't get away with it even not using 'Database Delegated'.

Thanks!
