"TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM" Error during SPAM Update

We have just installed our sandbox. R/3 4.7 x110, SQL2005 on W2003. The first process we ran in the SPAM Update and got the following message.

"The Support Package import was interrupted because an error occurred in step CHECK_REQUIREMENTS. The Support Package Manager cannot remove this error on its own. After you have corrected the problem, you can continue import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue in the initial Support Package Manager Screen. The following entries will help you analyze the problem:

Error in step: CHECK_REQUIREMENTS

Cause of error: TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM

Return code: 0212

Error message: could not access file as supposed (see SLOG for more details)

I know the solution should be like

1) setup the tpparam in \usr\sap\trans\bin

2) upgrade tp.exe and R3trans to the latest version.

But...actually I don't know the detail...

what should i setup in tpparam?

and ....where I can download tp.exe and R3trans for x64?

can anyone tell me a short direction or description?

Regards

Jack Lee

We had issue with SPAM update and used to get this error. SPAM update used to run for long and we get error "TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM". After running the statistics for table D010INC, SPAM update was successful.

Thanks,

Dear Expert:

I downloaded the tp_277-20001176.SAR for update tp.exe .

Buit I tried to use SAPCAR -xvf to decompress the SAR file.

it came out error like below:

C:\TP>SAPCAR -xvf tp_277-20001176.SAR

processing archive tp_277-20001176.SAR...

format error in header

Can anyone tell me what's wrong and how to solve it?

use binary format if you are using FTP

You have to decompress the files with a newer sapcar release. You can download it on sap Marketplace under Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group - SAP Technology Components.
