Error when I double click sapinst.exe

Hi Floks,

When I double click sapinst.exe to install ECC 6.0 SR2 it gives the following error :

ianxsysex.c:455: CreateProcess(C:\DOCUME1\ABEAMC1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sapinst_exe.2396.1242822965\sapinst.exe,
"C:\DOCUME1\ABEAMC1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sapinst_exe.2396.1242822965\sapinst.exe",...) failed: The system cannot find the file specified.

When I click OK then next error as follows:

iaextract.c:818: child has signaled an exec error. Keeping directory C:\DOCUME1\ABEAMC1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sapinst_exe.2396.1242822965

then

SAPinst is getting started.
Please be patient ...
Exit status of child:-1|

Could you please let me know where I am going wrong ???

Hi All,

Thanks for the answers, the problem was Missing of some files so, could not extract.

Solved by copying dump again.

Hi Suneel,

JAVA_HOME corretly set ? and i guess tmpdir not required here as you want the logs in tmp directory

check the permission of tmp directory and space too

Hi Bhudev,

I have set JAVA_HOME correctly, My hostname is - sapserver, as I am installing with user Admin, I am not sure that, we need to login with the sapserver and then try to install.

I have enough space around 100 GB in C: Drive and 300 GB in 😧 drive.

And where can I check the permission of tmp directory.

Could help me out plz ??

Hi..

Goto your Start>run and type %TEMP% and you will get the temp directory.

go on directory back by deleting "/temp" in the address bar of windows explorer.

Right click in temp directory and choose properties. Here you will get directory permission.
