Hi!
We doing a system copy of our SQL server 2000 SP4 win32 to SQL Server 2005 x64, and we've noticed in note 151603 that we should run sap_droproc in source system before the database detach. Is this really necessary?
Can we run it on the target system just before starting SAP?
We know that dropping the temporary storage procedures is not an issue, but anyway, we don't want to disturb the source system to avoid some misunderstanding.
BTW.... this is a SAP NW2004 and we are in the latest SP Stack.
Cheers,
Hi Fernando.
You can run sap_droproc before starting SAP.
That's just for cleaning the database before the migration.

Yes there is no issue.
And why you want to detach database on source system ?
You can stop SQL Instance and take a copy of .mdf and .ldf files and restore into new server into respective folder and attach into new server.
