JCo Errors

Former Member

Hello all,

When going to the list of JCo destinations in the system, doing a "Ping" results in the following error message: Failed to ping JCo destination 'FlightList_Data'.

Have checked the following traces:

dev_jrfc.trc

jrfc.trc*

and did not see anything useful - at all.

Is there some better way to see why one is getting this problem?

TIA

Hi Kartikaye,

Your answers steered me in the right direction. Basically, I found out that I had not defined the PUBLIC group in SMGW.

After I did so, the "Ping" and the "Test" worked like a charm

Thanks again!

Hi Casey,

Is the RFC destination visible from the NW server?

Ping is standard network utility. It returns successful if the target server is visible.

Please confirm if you have entered the correct server details for the JCo and if both the servers are visible to each other in the network.

Hi Kartikaye,

The EP 7.0 and ECC 6.0 are on the same box. I can log in with the SAP Frontend but don't understand why the Ping does not work ... Is this using some kind of "SAP Ping"?

I wish that there were some good logs to say what the problem is ...

TIA

Hi Casey,

Ha ha ha SAP has a mind of its own... but I think it uses the same ping. Must be some configuration somewhere.

Check the details entered for the JCo and see if the server details etc are correct.

Check if the ECC server is properly entered in the SLD.

Check if the user id and password or authenication setting is correct.

Check the default trace for more details.
