Hi, Experts,
In SAP Business One 2007A, the Journal Entry / Invoice have 'Doc. Date' automatically equals to ''Posting Date'.
Is there any way to have 'Doc. Date' as the date we post the invoice?
For example,
one invoice has:
Posting date: Mar 31, 2009
Due date: Apr 30, 2009
We posted the invoice to SAP on May 18, 2009. We'd like SAP to show 'Doc. Date' automatically as the date when we do the positng. Thanks!
Lorrie
Hi Lorrie,
Normally, the document date is meant for tax purposes that is the date on which the tax should be accounted for. Normally this date should be the same as the posting date unless you want the tax to be calculated on the 1st of next month but your posting date is 30th of previous month.
In your case, perhaps you could build in an SQL query SELECT GETDATE() and put it as a formatted search in the document date field to achieve what you want.
Thanks,

But our invoices are imported from our job costing system. So the system will automatically accept 'Posting Date', and SAP put the 'Due Date' and 'Document Date'. We would not have a chance to use the query to manually update the 'Document Date' field.
Is there any method to ask SAP automatically accept the invoices importing date as 'Document Date'? Thanks!

Hi Lorrie,
Wish that you had mentioned the job costing import in your orginal question. Anyways, this is how you might want to proceed:
1. If the support team for your job costing system can change the code so as to map the doc date field as the system date - that will be one option.
2. If Option-1 is either not possible or an expensive option then try and put the formatted search anyways as suggested in earlier email. Then when the records are imported from your job costing module to SAP, the formatted search should automatically be triggered and you should get the doc date as system date.
Hope this helps,
Ajay Audich
