Hi

Phase-wise Duration:

Business Blueprint: 2 months is sufficient.

Realization: 1 month will not be sufficient if the implementation is not pure Vanilla system and if you are considering only one condsultant.

In this phase apart of all configuration, you will require to test the system. You are implementing 3 submodules and I think it should be somewhere between 2-3 months as you have to keep some time extra for handling the issues which can turn up during implementation.

Cut-over Activities: It should be also min. 6 weeks as UAT will also happen during this time and if there are any issues you will also have to take care of that

Post-Go Live: 1 month, It depends on client comfort level.

Hope this will help

Dear Guds,

Could please add some enlightening inputs related to master data uploads and would be the major challenges in collecting the master data. In what format it should be collected from CTMs. What are the minimum fields to be considered for PA, OM, PY master data upload. Is LSMW the best option.

Dear Guds,

Could please add some enlightening inputs related to master data uploads and would be the major challenges in collecting the master data. In what format it should be collected from CTMs. What are the minimum fields to be considered for PA, OM, PY master data upload. Is LSMW the best option.

For the uploads you can use LSMW which is the best option and a bit easy one. The second thing you need to understand what all data need to be captured and how. You will also have to write some dynamic actions like for IT0041 date specification and some other depending on client requirement.

If the file you are creating to be used by LSMW, you can have in excel format. You have to consider all the relevant and mandatory fields, while capturing the data and also prior to upload do the all configuration like setting up the mastyer data tables and relevant features.

The main IT for running payroll is 0000, 0001, 0002, 0006, 0007, 0008, 0009 and more depending on for which country you are setting up. like for india there are few IT in 500 series related with HRA and others. for USA 0207, 0208, 0209 and 0210 are also reqd. and also you have to set up BSI config. and so on for other countries.

In OM you need to setup the authorizations and hierarchial and org staructure. Also activate the switches like plogi plogi, plogi orga and PLOGI PRELI for integrating OM with PA, go through the documentation for all 3 as they are for different things

also activate the switch for additional action

Hope this will help and get back for any further queries

Hi,

Its all depends on how many infotypes you want to update and you want to include the estimate of creating LSMW's in it or not.

One more thing which I want to point out here is generally in last the population not matters a lot except creation of data file and how much the time will be taken by LSMW to upload the file.

Lets take an example for one IT. So for creating LSMW it wont take more then 2 days, if there are not much validation, and the data you are getting in file will be exactly the values will get upload in IT's. But if the validations are there and also you need to manipulate the data and convert the file value based on logic to SAP value then tthere will be complexiy and the time for such a LSMW will be around 4-5 days including testing.

So on these timeframes you can calculate the exact timings as per your client requirement.

Also for OM you can create direct BDC program using tcode PP02 for creating objects like org unit, positions, relationships, job etc..

hope this will help

Dear Manikya,

Your score reflects good. Could please elaborate on cutover activities challenges. Also, some inputs on LSMW would be highly apprecaited. The employee strenght is 500.

Its doable in this estimated timelines.

Important Gray areas: Master volume in OM/PA/PY- Data validation- UAT Bug fixing-No YTD uploads - No Custom ITs - No +ve Time Management

But I would also recommend you to get trained in the basic course and start the project.

Thanks,

Phase-wise Duration:

Business Blueprint: 2 months

Sufficient.

Realization: 1 month

Will not be sufficient. In realization phase you have to take care of testing, training, roles & authorizations etc.

Cut-over Activities: 1 monthl (1 week for Master Data)

Must be min. 6 Weeks

Post-Go Live: 1 month

It is depends on client confident level.
