Bank Code in Banks Set up Window

Hi experts

Can somebody please define what code should be inserted in this field and what relevance it may have? I am working on a UK implementation and the banks are all UK. Is there a list of standard codes for UK banks? I understand the relevance of the Bank Account and Branch fields.

This is asking you the REAL code of your banking account. If you do not have any banking accounts in UK, how could you use banking service there? You may ask this question to your bank, not here.

Although I am still unsure - I thought the Banks window listed all Banks used (House & BP Banks) therefore it does not require to specify account numbers and sort codes - this is done specifically in House Banks and Business Partner Item Master Data. ??

I still do not understand what code should be input.??

All Banks are defined by sort codes.

I have discovered that this particular field displays a short name for the Bank. Simple as that.
