db disconnect after ip changed

hi

my Env. is WinoracleSolution manager 7.0

I changed my Phy. Ip afrer that SAP not getting up. log saying db got disconected, also pointing out network porblem

I also update hostfile.

You are on Windows.

You probably forgot to start OracleService[SID] Windows service. Make sure it is started first. if it is not started, TNS listener won't be able to work.

Hi Sachin,

Check your TNSNAMES.ora file of Database as well as SAP. change the IP in Both files. after chengging the IP Ping ur IP on server with TNSPING command. if it is pingging then start your Database first after it start SAP.

First you do activity as follows.

1. goto run command, and type "cmd" for command prompt.

2. type lsnrctl start

now try to start SAP. otherwise

3. Post the output after this command here.

4. again type lsnrctl stat

Work with your listener, change ip/hostname and try to start your listener.

Error clearly showing that TNS protocol error.

in most cases, you wil lfind tnsnames.ora in X:\usr\sap\SId\sys\profile\oracle , but also in %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin

Seems that the IP address is not updated in sqlnet.ora file. Put the current IP address and check again.

Hi..

Just try to ping system with it's host name, if ok then check oracle listner setting ( if configured with IP).

and try command with <sid>adm

1. sqlplus /

If it get success and SAP does not start still then post workprocess log from work directory.
