Hi,

you can do onething...

1) duplicate your default framework page

2) remove the detailed navigation in it

3) assgin this to a new portal desktop

4) Assign the new portal desktop to the role you want in 'desktop and display rules'

Other way is

Go to your role in pcd and open as object

And set the property 'Invisible in Navigation areas' as Yes.

This will hide the detailed navigation for that role

Invisible or collapsed? You can collapse it so it doesn't take up any space by setting a property on iViews.

As I said, you can set a property for an iView to make it collapse the navigation panel. So, inside the role where you want to collapse the naviagtion, add iViews that have this property set.

The property is "Initial State of Navigation Panel" to "Always Close"

Hi Michael

I have three values for that property in iView ,those are Automatic, open, closed . i dont have any option as like "Always closed" in that property

currently we are using the protal version CE 7.1 SP15.

Can you please give any solution either invisible or any other solution if it is there??

CE 7.1 SP15? I don't know that version...

I don't think making it invisible is realistic just for a single role. You could make a framework without the navigation panel, but it won't be able to assign this dynamically.
