problem with installation of WAS

ERROR 2004-08-19 01:38:35

MUT-02041 SDM call of deploySdaList ends with returncode 4. See output of logfile C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\j2ee-sneak-preview\install\callSdmViaSapinst.log.

Can anybody know me how to prevent this error?

This Error occured for the "Deploy Online" during Installation.

Forgot to say, the real reason of this failure is reported in the callSdmViaSapinst.log file.

You've changed the Administrator password in Visual Admin tool using telnet. Now you have to assign the same password in Secure Store using config tool.

See a solution in the note 756084. This helped me. Note, that portal should be running after applying the note, before you continue patching.

Look at this also; same note, different line

"Another solution for this situation can be found in SAP Note 701654". If you look into this note, you can find that "Note 701654 is not released."

Hi,

If you follow the instructions given in install.htm, it is clearly specified that it error may occur.

All you need to do is cancel the installation, then press stop. Alternatively you can kill the process sapinst.exe from the task manager process list.

Make sure that the process ends properly.

Restart sapinst.exe

This should solve the problem.

Get back to the forum if this doesnt work.

Hi cg,

please try the following:

1. Open the SAPMMC and stop the complete cluster (via context menu on node J2E). Start the installation again (before the deploy online the installation should start the cluster again).

2. If this doesn't help, try to restart your PC and try to continue the installation afterwards.

3. If this also doesn't help, return to the forum
