Hi to all experts here,
We are planning to upgrade our customer's system from SuSE9 - SuSE10, ECC5 - ECC6, and oracle 9 - oracle 10. What is the best way of doing this?
Can I install a fresh SuSE10, perform a system copy then upgrade ECC5 to ECC6 and oracle9 to oracle10.
Is that possible?
Thanks a lot.
BR,
Nancy
Hi Nancy.
First of all, check SAP Product Availibily Matrix ( http://service.sap.com/pam ) to avoid any compatibility issue between your different releases.
But anyway, I think the better way to begin with this upgrade is to repeat the complete process on the same configuration than your target.
You can for example install a SUSE 10, with ECC5 running on Oracle 9, then copy your database on this system, but you shouldn't be able to test your OS upgrade.
I advise you to build a sandbox as an entirely copy of your development system, and repeat the processes several times on it until your procedure will be OK.
Best regards.
Seb.
