adding segment to an IDoc type

hi there,

i created a segment type. released it. then i went to the existing IDoc type(we30) and trying to add segment type. for this i m trying to cancel release for IDoc type.

but i get error message

''Assignments of extension Y11.... to views are available''

plz help.

Hi Pawan,

You can do a where used list of the segement to see whether it is being used anywhere. These errors will come because it is being used elsewhere.

If you still want to change a segement you can do it by creating another version of the Segement.

yes when i try to cancel release only it gives this error message

Can you take out the assignment to the message type and try it?

i doubt if this is the reason bcoz i tried the whole thing already with MATMAS03 extension. there i didnt face this problem

Well, it sounds like you have already assigned it else where. Have you already assigned that to a MESSAGE TYPE.
