There is no article description for item 000001

importing an EDI 850 purchase order in to SAP I am receiving an error There is no article description for item 000001. The status is 51.

No errors in the IDOC.

What is this message referencing and how do i resolve this?

Since this is a first hit as a post for the error - 'There's no article description for item' in ORDERS04 IDOC(inbound to ECC), I wanted to suggest a solution, which worked for me.

- If you are using segment - E1EDP02 for Material, then replace it with E1EDP19. E1EDP19 is a child of E1EDP01 and will carry the MATNR to the input function module - IDOC_INPUT_ORDCHG, where the error - VG205 - There's no article description for item is generated.

Hello,

Check the IDoc segment has customer material number , sold-to in VLPMA table . Process it in BD87 and let me know.
