Fields involving costs in adobe form - '$' symbol not showing up

Hi All,

I have a field in my adobe form in which the end user needs to enter the cost for a certain process.

The field should display that cost in the form of $ 9999.99 (for eg).

In the Object palette, I have specified the display pattern for this field as $ 9999.99. However when I generate the form and key in some numbers in the cost field, '$' symbol is not appearing. Some other symbol is showing up.

Anyone had this issue before ? Any help is appreciated !

thanks.

Liz

Do you have a space in the display pattern field? if so, remove that.

also, you may want to put the same pattern in the edit pattern field, too

Word of caution....set the display attribute to show the "$" but the edit attribute not too....otherwise, it will try to send the "$" to the backend and most likely throw an error.

Hi Robert/Chris,

There is no space in the pattern I gave. I tried all the patterns available and it still gives me a wierd symbol and not '$'.

This wierd symbol keeps showing up irrespective of the fact whether I fill the 'Edit Pattern' or not.

I am not able to copy the symbol to show it to you guys.

I am using Vista. Can you advise whether this issue is related to Vista.

I am reaching a dead end. Please advise.

Best,

Liz

The requirement for '$' to be seen was removed; thus I am closing this post. However this issue is still a mystery!
