Hi,
I'm building new sap installation server. Looks like "Automatic Workstation Update" service is the right way to automatically apply latest patches.
Just I'm concerned about performance issues - I'm afraid that after patching the server, to many client connections will 'hang' it.
Is there any way to control (approve ?) these client connections ?
(I've heard about possibility to have few installation servers - but this one not good for me - I have only one server)
We have about 300 users, is it a lot compared to one installation server (ordinary virtual machine) ?
thanks
Vilius
Dear Villus
a load balancing only is possible with 2 or more installation server.
You can create this in the NWSAPSETUPADMIN tool by "Services" -> configure Automatic workstation update service -> there you can browse for additional update sources...
But you can also test the following:
set the limit for the users in the properties of the shred folder to 10 or 20 ....
This will limited the user access to this shared folder ...
I have never tested this, but i think, this is an good idea.
Best regards, Sven
