RADNTLANG - Report in Non Unicode - Single page system

Former Member

Hi

We are performing an unicode conversion from a (1100) single code ECC 6.0 to a unicode system.

As per the guide (SP 16) it says, that we need to run the report RADNTLANG, to set the Text language flag for all tables.

The note 480671, provides some good insight of this report.

But no where they have mentioned about how to create a variant for this report, Can someone help us

1. Is this report is mandatory, if we have only two languages (DE & EN) in our non unicode system?

2. What type of variant has to be created for this report? so that we can run in background.

3. After running this report as per the note 672835, there is a list of tables provided by SAP, do we need to manually change the text flags for these tables?

4. Is this report has to be run before SPUMG?

Thanks & regards

Senthil

Hi,

1) yes, in order to be compliant with the standard you should run this report also in a single code page system prior to the conversion (as written in the Unicode Conversion Guide).

2) Please have a look at SAP note 678221 regarding the flag 'Activate Inactively'.

In SAP note 480671 you can find: "... leave the other parameters empty ..."

3) In general you should check the mentioned tables as outlined in SAP note 672835. However, if your Basis SP level is not too old, there should be no differences, which means that there is no action item.

4) In MDMP systems it is mandatory to run RADNTLANG before SPUMG. In single code page systems there is no such dependency - you should execute the report before the GO LIVE with Unicode.
