Configurable Material Indicator

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to remove the tick for " Material Configurable Indicator " in basic data view -2

Note : User tried to remove the tick mark but failed Error : " Not possible to cancel the Materila configurable indicator "

Hi,

You wanted to cancel the Material is configurable indicator.

This is not possible for one of the following reasons:

A configuration profile already exists for the material.

A bill of material (BOM) already exists for the material.

The material is used in a BOM.

The material uses itself as a configurable material (cross-plant or plant-specific).

Please try using these T-codes CU44 or CU80 to look at any dependency that the material has.

Hi

I have checked in OMS2 " Material Configurable" indicator is already unchecked.any other way ?

Material is " HALB ".

The material is not used itself as a configurable material

Where can we see the configurable profile?

No it was still going on

user has changes the validy date

I deleted the BOM and tried to uncheck the configurable indicator but failed

Hi Sai,

I think that you need to see that whether the BOM has history requirements or not. If yes then try to go to the change mode of the BOM with the help of change number and set the deletion indicator for the BOM at the header.

After this you need to delete the BOM from the system. This can be done thru cs28 which is for archiving and then subsequently for deletion of the BOM thru the archiving object CS_BOM. Only after the deletion of the dependent objects for the material master, you can change the master data, since this master data is being used by some dependent object i.e., BOM here ( Note: there should not be any other dependent objects which is using this material master).

If there are some dependent objects for the master data then that master data cannot be changed unless the dependent object for that master data has been settled fully, i mean to say that the master data should not have any dependent object which is using it.

Hope this holds some clue to the problem.

SAP PP gurus please correct me if i am wrong somewhere.

Dear,

If you are using the KMAT material type then it is not possible to remove it.

You will get the error message MM315

Go to OMS2 select your material type then remove the Configurable Material tick mark.

Also refer the OSS note 1021077 and 48328.

HI,

Check in OMS2 for the material type whether the "Material is Configurable" indicator is checked. In that case you cannot remove it from the material master, unless u remove it in OMS2.
