Migrate SQL Backend Database to a new server

Hello

We are running 10.0.5.837 and the hardware that the database is on is dieing. We need to move just the database to a new server that is running the same version of SQL Server; or we can move it to a SQL 2005 instance. SQL 2005 would be preferred. I want to leave the currently installed enterprise level web gui in place, which is on a separate server from the sql database.

Is there a simple way to tell the server that has the gui to use another server for the backend database? If all else fails I am willing to call tech support since this is an older version of Crystal Reports. Thanks

Hi,

What do you mean by the GUI? GUI of what? SQL SERVER? or Crystal Report?

Migrating SQL server database is as copying files, SQL SERVER 2005 can export databases from other Server.
