Hello Seniors,
Has anybody created an org structure where employees are working part-time for different departments?
If yes, Please explain the procedure

Hi Dinesh,
I worked on a project where external employee (supplier) were set up in the customer organizational structure.
There were in a specific branch and able to buy items they need to do their job.
As they were working for a quite long period, it was not such a big deal.
However in your case, if the period is very short or if the employee is a different department each time, you better define a generic userID that these employees will use to buy items.
You will have to define other generic users in the different department and activate "buy on behalf of" functionality.
Kind regards,
Yann

Hi Yann,
I think the interpretation needs to be refined.
We have individual user IDs only.
What we want is:
suppose "DineshP" is user id.
and there are two departments say "Finance" and " Marketing" in org structure.
"DineshP" is first assigned to "Finance" ,
then can I attach "Dineshp" also to "Marketing" ???
The business scenario may be that the user"DineshP" may be working 60% of time in "Finance" & 40% in marketing.
hope it's clear now !

Hi Dinesh,
Another alternative if the partime worker is an approver and this is where the issue is, is to create a user id of Jane Smith and then create a second user id of Jane Smith1 for example and set a subsitute for one of the users so each of the workitems for approval goes to one mailbox.
If the person is a requestor you could always just assign the different cost centres in attributes and have workflow send cost centre from one department to one manager and cost centre from another department to another manager.
