Hi all.
We have configure a JDI server.
But when we are using NWDS to connect that server, and create a new DC, it returns us the error.
Invalid name; on this server no name of category SAP_DevelopmentComponentName are allowed at all.
Whats the problem ? Thanks a lot
Hi,
I think you have not configured the name server properly.
In your SLD you should register a name server. name server can be same SLD server. then you should configure namespace prefix on the name server.
Please refer the JDI installation Guide for configuring name server.
bye and best of luck.

Please go ahead and configure a name server.
Initially when were installing JDI we did not had a name server. we faced same problem. but then after configuring name server, all the problem were solved.
also make sure that you configure name prefix in your name server.
also recreate the track to reflect the name server changes.
Hi all. Now I have configured the naming server.
I define 2 namespace prefixes in sld - name reservation - content maintenance
one is
SAP_AllowedNamespacePrefixAscending : App
Name : comgroup.cn
another is
SAP_AllowedNamespacePrefixAscending : ken for SAP_DevelopmentComponentName
Name : ken
After it. But I also face the problem to define the name while creating dc in NWDS. Which name should I define ?
You need to reimport track in Developer studio by removing previous imported track and then reimporting that track again.
for details please follow following steps.
1. Open developer studio.
2. Go to Menu windows->Open Perspective->other
3. Select development configurations.
4. In the local DC's view you will see your old imported track.
5. if you see old tack then right click on that and say remove configuration.
6. now again right click in the same view and select import configuration.
7. select the remote radio button.
8. it will show you list of all the tracks in CMS.
9. select the track from the list (here track name should end with _dev)
10. click finish.
your track is now reimported.
you can create DC in that track.
this is correct. because it is picked up from name server. and your name server has only one vendor and name prefix, if you have multiple entires in name server then those fields are kept enabled and then you can change those values.
go ahead and create new DC's.
if your problem is solved then please close the post.
Did you import the CIM content into the SLD?
Did you configure the Name Server in the DTR?
What version of NWDI & NWDS are you running?
