I am getting this error in every ECC 6.0 systems in syslogs.

SAP-Basis System: Operating system call recv failed (error no. 10054).

Hi,

We faced these errors for some remote users , who is connecting over a wan and the network of those users is of low bandwidth which caused these errors, this may be one of the reason.

You can check this in st06 and os level ping to active presentation server to check whether the ping response time is high or timeout happening , timeout or high ping time shows the slow network .

This is related to your connection issue. Pls check your connection (network) setting.

Hi,

Please change the parameter value ""gw/gw_disconnect"" to 0 and you should not get this error again.

Can I add the parameter for production server also I am facing the same problem all my servers.

suppose if it is only ASJAVA(EP) server how to do.

Hi,

Yes you can add this parameter for ABAP or ABAP+ JAVA Instances.

You can not add this parameter for pure AS JAVA (EP) instances because you wont get this error in EP (No SM21 tcode there)

After add the paramter gw/gw_disconnect = 0

in sm21 I found this error.

SAP gateway was closed

The SAP gateway was terminated. It is therefore not possible to establish CPIC connections.
