Yeah... I have all... I follow the media list to get the files... SAP sent me the discs to do the installation... I don't need to download...

But, when I start the sapinst, I have no choice to install a SAP System...

only the other 2 options that I mentioned first...

I think that maybe something is missing, in installation process... I follow the installation guide, but this option does not appear to me...

What can I do?!

we recently did Solman 7.0 installation and did exactly by following the guide, seems little strange in your case

ok, as per guide, you are running sapinst as follows ?

cd <Installation Master_DVD>/IM_<OS>

./sapinst

and I hope, you are doing Central System Installation and new Solman system Installation

as per guide, you should be able to see these two options:

If you want to install a new SAP Solution Manager system from scratch, choose SAP Solution Manager <Current Release> ->SAP Systems ->System Variant> ->Based on AS ABAP and AS Java.

If you want to install the Java Add-In for an existing SAP Solution Manager ABAP system, choose SAP Solution Manager <Current Release> ->Software Life-Cycle Options ->Java Add-In for ABAP<database> -> <system variant>.

So...

This is the problem... The option "SAP Systesm" does not appears when I run SAPinst...

I'm using the correct version of installer (in my case, is win2003 32bits).

I'll try to re-install oracle, and try to run the installation again... maybe it works...

Thank's

As of Solution Manager SR3 it's no more possible to install a 32bit.

If you attentively read the installation guide you will find

Note 1145779 - SAP Solution Manager 7.0 Installation

<...>

As of SAP Solution Manager 7.0 you can only install dialog instances on 32-bit platforms. All remaining SAP system instances (central instance, database instance, central services instance (SCS), ABAP central services instance (ASCS)) you can only install on 64-bit platforms.

Therefore the folder "SAP Systems" is not available on the "Welcome screen", when you start the installation from a installation master DVD for 32-bit.

<...>

32bit systems are deprecated since products based on 6.20 came out.

Note 1280759 - SAP recommends only 64-Bit Windows for SAP Appl. Servers

If your server was bought recently (in the last 2 years), it's VERY likely, that it's able to run a 64bit OS.

Just read the thread!

A Solution Manager SR3 can't be installed on a 32bin operating system

Read the note and the extract of it I posted - it also contains a "solution".

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I am doing the installation on 64 bit win 2003 but when i try to install i am not getting the option "Sap Systems".

I am very sure that I have downloaded the correct installation master DVD from mkt place.

Best Regards,

Subbu

What is the DVD number (check LABEL.ASC in the root directory of the DVD)?

I am running into the same problem, no SAP System option appears during the install - although i am installing on a 64 bit Windows 2003 server.

I did run into problems location the 64 bit java 1.4.2 version. The sun website had a 64 bit version of Java for AMD but not for intel processor - not sure if this is the problem.

This question appears as answered - however i don't see an answer in the thread.

The LABEL.ASC file in my case reads as follows -

SAP:WEBAS:7.00:SAPINST::WINDOWS_I386:

Does this mean i don't have the right software disk.
