Archiving PLPO and PLAS tables only

Present Situation:

We have a custom developed program to maintain Task Lists.

In this development we copy a specific set of applicable operations

from groupcounter u201C00u201D into the newly created Task List (Last

groupcounter + 1) or when updating operations.

Problem:

Above solution has caused tremendous data growth in the datasets PLPO

and PLAS; 2,7 Mj records PLAS entries and 2,9 Mj. PLPO entries.

This data growth is in some cases causing run-time errors on some

programs; For ex. WPSTS_TASKLIST_READ_FROM_DB

Solution requested:

Although 2,2 Mj. Out of 2,7 Mj PLAS entries are marked for deletion, none of the PLPO entries have a deletion mark. Joined Task Lists in PLKO are still active.

SAP archiving (PM_PLAN) is not capable of deleting inactive operations.

Archiving can only be done on complete Task Lists.

We are looking for a way to clean the amount of records in PLPO and PLAS tables, perhaps a customized copy of PM_PLAN in AOBJ will do the trick but we lack experience on that subject.

Please advise on how to do so.

SAP's answer:

Dear Customer,

Unfortunately this is the standard behaviour, all task lists must

be fully completed before archiving can be performed.

Thank you for contacting SAP Active Global Support.

Hi,

I think you nay put deletion flag to those operations / task list first manually, but in mass, with the help of trx CWBQM. And then run Task list archive run transaction IA25.

It may help you. Else you will be in need as per the instructions from marketplace.

Hi Shyamal,

The trouble we have is that the task list groupcounter is still active and can not be deleted or archived.

Each groupcounter has only a small set of active operations but a enormous set of inactive PLAS and thus PLPO records. PLPO records are not marked inactive (PARKZ) or deleted (LOEKZ).

As far as I can see, With trx CWBQM it is not possible to select General Task Lists. (A)

Mass deletion of (inactive) operations is what we want to accomplish, any other ideas?
