Message alert on duplicate barcodes

Hi Experts,

I wan't to be able to check if the barcode that I am about to encode in the item master data is already existing. I want an alert to be generated however, minimum time of alert is 1 minute. But this has to be triggered immediately when I add the item. I'm thinking of a stored procedure.

Does anyone had this workaround before? Or any other options?

Hi Don,

In your case, SP would be better than alert. It can block the duplicate bar codes entering into Item master.
