Hello all,
The following statements cause a shutdown with MaxDB 7.6:
create table a (aa char(5) key)
-> select * from a order by a.VALUE(aa,1)
Of course the last statement is wrong, but perhaps the DB should handle it different.
Best regards, Gabriel
Hi,
these logs look similar to mine. Fine, then we can be sure to talk about the same problem.
And I like to read your statement about upgrade to 7.7.

Hallo,
you are definitely right, even funny looking statements should not result in a core.
This will be corrected as soon as possible.
The problem is the schema (or user) name in front of the period.
A problem could be reproduced very easily. But the resulting core looked quite different. A stack overflow could be produced, not your trace back. And that traceback will never be reached with your statement. Therefore I am not really sure if you do not have another problem with your kernel version.
I would recommend using the newest version available (although it will up to now not handle the mentioned statement correctly).
Elke

That may be my error not posting the correct logs. Maybe the logs below are what you were asking?
BTW, we are planning the upgrade to 7.7 right now.
Thanks,
Simon
