Hi, I am facing this similar problem. We have big materials, formed by many other components that are not registered in the system, and this big material requires more than one pallet to store them. This means when we receive 1 UN of this material we need for example three pallets to store it. When the material must be sent to production line we will need to get the three pallets to serve the material with all it's components.

Any idea of how can we handle this?

Best regards ,

Hi,

It is ok.You can store material master data as BOM.In this way you can have a material which is a set of several materials. Then you can have Storage Unit MANAGEMENT active at your warehouse,For this you need to craete SUTs and need to assign them against your bin types in configuration. We have similar scenario in IS Retail where we store Sales sets in Warehouse.

You assign individual SUT against individual bin types. This way you can have seperate SUs for eperate bins.

If its the case like you have to assign a material into several SUs then you assign several SUTs to same material master.

Warm Regards,

Thanks for your anwers.

But the problem is we have a products, this products composed of several components which doesn't identified in the system and for store this product we need a two or more pallet.

For example:

We have a big machine, and we need three different pallet to store.

Thanks for all.

This works for us without using Handling units in the warehouse...

In the WH 1 or 2 view of the material master, identify the LE quantity for that material. This is the quantity that can fit onto a single pallet. Then, when SAP generates TO items, it will split the quantity acrioss multiple TO line items based on the LE quantity.

>Example: A wooden pallet of Zerox paper can hold 40 boxes of paper. The material number has 40 BOX set as LE. If you receive 200 Boxes (single GR line item), SAP will generate 5 TO line items, each with a maximum of 40 Boxes, and eaxh can beput away in its own WH bin.

Hello,

You could go for SUM (storage unit management). This way, every pallet will have its own unique no. and you will be able to store the same material on different pallets and based on your putaway strategies defined, you could go for storing it in the same bin.

On how to activate SUM, please refer to the following information on SAP

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/c6/f85c504afa11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm

Or you could search this forum. There are many good threads available that explain this.

Thanks,
