Configuring JDBC (JNDI) Connectivity on Crystal 10

I'm trying to set up a JDBC connection using the following instructions: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50b9dd07-951e-2b10-9c81-bc5d082230b0

The data I need to extract may either be obtained from the LDAP or DB2 database.

This is being set up client side, not server side.

The reports are not being set up for others to use.

Java JDK (SDK not run-time) version 1.4.20 build 19 has been installed and runs.

JDBC, XML, and DB2 drivers have been installed (to the right directory I think)

Here's where I get lost:

Do I need all the lines in the sample INI file if I just use the data from the LDAP?

Is it best to extract the data from the LDAP or DB2?

If DB2, can I bypass the INI file and just use ODBC to the IBM DB2?

Can you please include any helpful hints on how to set this up?
