Transfer of material to another storage location in restricted status

Dear QM Gurus,

Our client is interested in selling some of our low grade material which is in Unrestricted but in restricted status . In order to sell it we will be creating another storage location called scrap . We would like to transfer this material from its present storage location to scrap storage location without getting it in unrestricted in its present storage location (GMP) requirement .

Kindly suggest a process in and the mater and config settings to MAP the above requirements .

well ....I did not get answer for this but we are in touch with SAP for this requirement .

You can use material to material transfer option in stock posting tab of the UD scren. You can create a separate material code for the scrap (but unit should be same).

Hi

As per my understanding u r requirement is to carry Material Stock transfer from one Storage loc (GMP) to another Storage loc(Scrap) and after the stock moved to new storage location , it cannot be shown in Unrestricted.

U can follow the steps if u r requirement is same

1) In QM view of material master activate inspection type 08(Stock transfer inspection)

2) Using MB1B (or MIGO) with movement type 311 do the transfer posting (Stor loc to Stor loc)

3) Now system will create insp lot and the stock will be in QI(not in Unrestricted)
