String splitting at -- when exporting to excel from spool

Hi All,

I Have an ALV report of which one of the field is material Number. Material number is maintained in the format '123456--2'. if iam running this report in background and exporting the spool to an excel, the material number is splitting into two columns like '123456' in one column and '2' in another column. Any idea to prevent this, please suggest.
