Hi all,
Please tell the difference between Data range and series of a component .
Thanks,
John
For charts? A data range is a contiguous set of cells. The series option lets you use data from different sections of you data model. Each series correspons to one 'line' on the chart.

Hi,
As per my understanding, Data range is a block of cells in your worksheet. If you want to have a chart which gives you comparative analysis (eg. Sales in 2008 vs Sales in 2009), use the data series wherein there will be 2 series
Sales in 2008 and Sales in 2009
I would be interested in looking at more meaningful (if possible standard definitions).
Regards
Nikhil

Hi
*Data by Range* is a cell selector button and helps you to select the range of values from the spreadsheet. The data range is the list of values to be presented on the chart component.
Data by Series is primarily for creating a multi-series chart. Each series is represented by columns of the same color as this is a component of line chart. The Series feature helps you in creating the dynamic visibility for your data. If you have xcelsius installed in your system you can go through the
Files select Samples and then User Guide Samples and choose Chart Drill Down to get more carity.
