hello, friend.

a configurable material is ideally processed as part of a Make-to-Order scenario. when the production order is confirmed, the material output is received into sales order stock using a movement type with a special E indicator (for sales order stock).

when processing GR using MIGO or a related transaction with reference to your production order, for example, the system will recognize it as MTO and will automatically propose the E indicator.

hope this helped you.

regards.

hello again.

MB1C should also work for you.

the very nature of configurable materials is that you do not maintain stock if there are no orders. also, you will note that in the material master for configurable materials, there are no accounting views, but you have costing views.

however, it is possible for your MTO/variant configuration scenario to source from unrestricted stocks for the exact match, if the feature "variant matching" is activated. there are existing threads which may better explain the necessary settings.

regards... cheers!
