Dirty DCs in NW7.11

Hi,

I have migrated my application to NW7.11.

The CBS build fails because of Dirty DCs. Here is the result in the log file:

Hi,

After migration did you do a rebuild of your DC's from the NWDS. I guess their could be some issues because of the version mismatch of java and its dependencies

Hi Ayyapparaj,

Actually I don't have J2EE installed on my local PC. However I just tried to build the project and I get the following errors:

[javac] ERROR: C:\Documents and Settings\i801193\workspace.jdi\2\t\97D641A4D3B4BBA42480A8F5FF379837\gen_wdp\packages\com\sap\fre\sui\StoreUserInterfaceComp.java:24: package org.apache.xalan.transformer does not exist

[javac] ERROR: C:\Documents and Settings\i801193\workspace.jdi\2\t\97D641A4D3B4BBA42480A8F5FF379837\gen_wdp\packages\com\sap\fre\sui\StoreUserInterfaceComp.java:77: package com.sun.corba.se.internal does not exist

I am wondering if there are missing dependencies in the track.

What doo you think?

Hassane.

Hi Kartikaye,

There is one dirty DC, the one corresponding to my application "sap.com_STORE_UI_1"

The build on my local PC fails also (see my last answer).

So what to do?

I don't have any J2EE installed locally.

Thank you and best regards,

Hassane.

Since you are migrating from 7.0 to 7.11. The jdk versions would be changing from Java 1.4 to 1.5.

Please check if all the required packages exist in the NWDS for 7.11 evironment.

From the logs its is apparent, that the local build fails as it is not able to find/reference the two packages mentioned. (package org.apache.xalan.transformer and com.sun.corba.se.internal)

Hi Kartikaye,

I already use JDK 1.5. What to do to fix the missing packages?

Thank you and best regards,

Hassane.

Hi,

package org.apache.xalan.transformer Do you have any external DC which contains apache parsers?

Have you tried to do a repair for the projects once synced from NWDI, this could help to find the actual errors.

Hi Hassane,

Please check if your web dynpro DC in 7.0 is using an external library.

Right click on the project and click on Properties. Then click on Web Dynpro Reference -> Library References.

If you library references there, then you would need to expose the library through a J2EE dc.

You can refer to the following weblog on how to consume external jars in CE 7.1.1:

Hi,

Check if your track and buildspace was properly created. Also, all the dependent DCs were properly imported into the buildspace.

Access the cbs through the devinf link. Click on the buildspace your are working on. You will see a table of all the Software Components (which part of the buildspace) and one of the columns will be Dirty DCs. This will give you number of dirty DCs for a software component.

Check if that Software Component is properly imported into the track and buildspace.
