hi

you can change the same only to the reference category is same ,kindly check in IMG and from master data IE02 change the equipment category

I have different number range of the equipment for which category is to be changed.

i want it to a different catogry which have different no. range

for example equip no. 100000021 with category A

and a different catogry B whose equip. no. range is 20000000...

now is it possible to change the change the category of100000021 from A to B

Yes you can change the same provided the reference category is same for A and B

Maintain Equiment Category

Check the reference category u have maintained in the Equipment Category...

Then change in the reference category in IE02 - Edit - Change Category

You can change Equipment category Go in TC IE02 then press Shift+F4 then you can enter new equipment category,
