Mass Role Import Error - When download files exceeds 10000 lines

Hi,

Whenever I import any role from the backend system with the download file from SE38 of more than 10000 lines, I am getting the following error. If the download file is less than 10k lines it works .

please assist me.

Unknown error occurred while performing operation (n/a)

My version is GRC 5.3 backend is ECC 6.0.

WHich SP of AC 5.3 are you on? It might be some version specific issue. Paste the logs here whe you get this error.

For the time being what you can try is : uploading roles from different files (each file not exceeding 10K).

Even after upgrading my ABAP and Java Support packs for GRC to the latest one.

I had a similar problem, don't know if you checked the following already. Might be that at the end of the xls file, there are some "empty" lines which however contain some "invisble characters".

Try to delete some x-tal "empty" bottom lines and upload the report again as a bg job.

After saving the upload files encoding format as UTF-8. I am able to import all the roles to system from the backend.

Hi,

Can you tell me in which component of GRC you are importing roles? is it ERM or CUP?

If it is ERM then what are the steps you are following,

whether it is ERM -> Configuration -> Mass Roles import roles ?

But for Mass Role Import you have to download the roles from ECC using /n/virsa/re_dnldroles tcode not using se38.

Please tell me the steps you are following.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I am importing the roles in ERM and the steps you mentioned are right.

And the method you said for role download from backend is the same that I am using. We can also go to SE38 and execute the program /VIRSA/RE_DNLDROLES. Both gives the same result.

Hi deepan,

Please make sure your role templete file is correctly created. The text is case sensitive, so for that make all data in the templete in upper case letter.

And if it is more then 10KB then please execute it in backgroud job.

The template which I use is right. Because the same template with

Less than 10000 lines woks. And I am getting this error as soon as I click continue,

So even before selecting it to run in BG it stops and throws error.
