MDM Server Logs from MDM Console

Hi Experts,

Could anyone of you tell me what's meaning of these messages in Server Logs from MDM Console ?

(1)

Error: Unable to register server in System Landscape Directory: Call to SLDREG Utility in /usr/sap/sldreg failed, Error = 0xff00.

Set proper value for parameter 'SLDReg Utility Path' in server configuration file.

If you are not using SLD, set parameter 'SLD Registration' to false in server configuration file so that the server does not try to register with SLD. This will avoid this error in the future.

(2)

Error: Service 'DFM', Schema 'MDMxxxxx_m000', ERROR CODE = 0,

SELECT LENGTH(Data) FROM A2i_Misc_Blobs WHERE Id=1000

Hi Wei Donna

Parameter "SLD registration" can be "True" or "False" and usefull for " Registers MDIS with the SAP System Landscape Directory."

You can set this parameter in mds.ini file.

Hi Dona,

The error states that the MDM Server is not able to register with the SLD. This is because you are not using SLD. Inorder to avoid this error you need to set the SLD Registration parameter to "False" in mds.ini configuration file, which you can find in MDM Server dictory.

Hi Wei,

As long as the MDM doesnot crash the second error is an "expected" error and is not meaning full. This will be shown only in the DB2 and not in other Databases. This is fixed in SP06 Patch03.

If there is a problem with MDM I suggest to open OSS message.
