Hi,
We need to invalidate the output node because this action clears out the information (if any) in the output nodes (from previous runs) and ensures a "push" from model context into the context of the controller.

We are always invalidate the output node after executing the FM b'coz the invalidation clears the prev value of output nod ein any dada exist.
So SAP always recommends that we need to invalidate the output node of the model.
Let me know if you have any concern.
