Access Control v5.3 CUP Config error in Miscellaneous Configuration

Former Member

Hi Experts,

We have recently upgraded from AE v5.2 to CUP v5.3 SP7 and have the following error when trying to save changes to the "Miscellaneous Configuration" parameters section:

Please enter a valid numeric value for Background Job Time Interval In Minutes, Value less than or equal to Configured Background Job interval 0"

I have tried to change it to what it asks and have attempted to make sure the Background Job interval was more than 0, but I continue to get the hard error. If you put "0" in, it returns the following error:

"Please enter a positive value for interval"

Any ideas on this one?

Hello Gary,

Please check if you are making the correct time entries. You need to be careful about where the entires are in Minutes and where it is in Seconds. So that you can calculate accordingly be taking into account that 1 min= 60 sec.

I remember we also had a similar trouble where we ignored this fact that at one page it asked for minutes and it asked for seconds on another.

Hi,

Please go through and understand why to Configure the Background Job Interval

This is from AC53_config Guide.

Compliant User Provisioning uses a daemon process to run scheduled background jobs. The

daemon runs periodically and executes all background jobs scheduled to run. Setting the

background job interval determines how much time must elapse before the background job

daemon is executed.

To set the Background Job Time Interval, in the Background Job Time Interval in Minutes

field, enter the number of minutes that Compliant User Provisioning waits before running the

background job daemon. Then click Save.

Thanks,

Sudip.

Hi Gary,

Have you uploaded initial data files in all components where ever applicable?

hi,

We have gone through this error, the details of the case is given here

1) When you will give any alphabet character in the Background Job Time Interval In Minutes then it will give you the following error,

Please enter a valid numeric value for Background Job Time Interval In Minutes, Value less than or equal to Configured Background Job interval 60

2) When you will give number 0 in the Background Job Time Interval In Minutes then it will give you the following error,

Please enter a positive value for interval

So, we have configured it to the value 1.

If you want any other info then please let me know.

Thanks,

Sudip...

Sudip,

My error says "0" and yours says "60" (see below). Where did you configure the "60"?

Please enter a valid numeric value for Background Job Time Interval In Minutes, Value less than or equal to Configured Background Job interval 60

Hello Gary,

The Background Job Time Interval is in Minutes not in seconds. So, for 60 second you can write 1 minute.

We have configured our system to 1 minute.

Sudip.

No, not really. I have tried to change/activate background jobs to fix this, but think i may have an issue with the back ground jobs list itself. We have repeated background jobs in the background schedule itself. Does anyone else have this? Our entries are repeated for EMail Dispatcher, Email reminder and escalation, just one group in uppercase and one in lower. I can only change the lowercase.

Below is the list of entries from the background jobs:
