Hi,

If you are talking about the typical requirement which comes in while working on MDM, then here are some of them:

Basically If you start working on any MDM scenario, then you would find typically these challenges:

1. Integration issues: In case MDM is dealing with multiple Source and target systems, then usually you might face challenges in the integration part of the landscape. Sometimes, MDM and the other systems do not understand the File formats between them and you require a PI or any other middleware. That requires, certain settings which is always a good learning.

2. Working on MDM API's - As there are sometimes, complex landscapes and un-usual requirements, API's are good and challengin to work upon. It requires coding and connection with the MDM server.

3. Working on MDM workflows: Workflows get in a lot of exciting work in MDM. The work varies from client to client. Some use it for Enrichment, some for matching stratergy and others for Approval mechanism and some for all. It would have difficult times sometimes, are we cannot do much of customization with it.

4. Working with Import and Export : Complex structures in source and MDM makes it interesting to work with Importing and Exporting. We sometimes have to tweak our Config options, use pivoting, normalizing, Link updates depending upon the requiements.

5. Number Generation is one of the difficult task in MDM as setting ranges and abiding with them like ECC is difficult.
