Regards

Dawid,
For any transactions and sales to be happen both parties (Customer and Company) should be abide to certain terms and conditions. These terms and conditions including Price, Specification about the product, and other details varies from time to time.
For example : You asked one of the companies a Quote for A Car on 16th of December. Say they quoted $ 50k, After 20 days you went there and asked for the same car at $50k which they were quoted. But due to some price rise at that time the price were 55k, so if validity period wont be mentioned you can ask them for $50k.
This is the reasin they always mention Valid to and Valid from date in Quotation.
Regarding Contract :
There are basically two types of contract : Fixed value and Fixed quantity. After abiding in contract depending upon the terms and conditions you can fix the cost.
Thanks,
Raja

Hi Raja,
Thanks for your input.
But I was looking from the perspective of CT (commodities) contract. Here we have seperatly of contract validity period and QP start date and QP End date. I observed many times that bothe start and End dates would be same for QP.
I do not get this point and what is the difference between contract validity dates and QP period.
When I price F1 for help at QP fields , I see the below message:-
"Earliest QP start date from subleg fixation periods
This will be the Final Quotation Period if the contract is set up to price using Formula & Averaging.
The dates are determined in the F&A set up in the sub pricing legs."
Please understand me from CT perspective.
Thanks.
Hi
Valid from: The date from which the quotation or Contract is valid.
The beginning date and the end date together define the validity period of the inquiry or quotation.
Valid To :Date until which the bid or quotation is binding.

Hi,
When ever a business send a quotation to its customer, it mention certain terms & conditions e.g. price of product, discounts, promotional offers etc. These terms remain valid for certain period i.e. all the terms of the quotations are not valid for life time, these are valid for certain period.
In SAP from- to date always specify the validity period of terms & conditions mentioned in the documents. It works in similar way in contracts as well..
Hope it helps solving your problen.
Thanks
Rakesh Kumar
