BrGui Error: BR0255E at startup

Hi,

we just migrated to Windows XP, incl. a new domain and therefore we all got new laptops.

Now BRGUI doesn't start anymore, and gives the following error: BR0255E: "von der Standardeingabe kann nicht gelsen werden".

I know the .rhosts file is configured correctly, and the jre Version is 1.5.0_06.

Everything works fine on my old laptop, with jre1.5.0_04.

Does anybody know what this error means?

Hi Daniel and Hernando,

There is a known issue with the RSH version coming from Windows XP SP2

as in the SAP note #611493 (BrGui:Graphical user interface for BR*Tools) as below that can cause this error also:

In some cases, BrGui does not work with the Remote Shell rsh from from

Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Microsoft Windows Server 2003

Service Pack 1. See Microsoft Support Article ID 896336. Microsoft

offers a hotfix for this purpose. As a workaround, use the rsh from the

previous Service Pack. This is located in the uninstall directory after

the Service Pack has been installed. You can also enter the complete

path in the relevant remote call.

Hey Hernando,

Did you install the latest patch of BrGui?

I've got it running now, with BrGui 6.40 Patch 9, and Java: 1.4.2_05.

Don't know why though, but our Network admin setup new installation packages for BrGui, and now it works.

So try another Java version, and reinstall it.
