Netweaver SR3 on MAX DB

Hi,

I have started installation on RHEL 4 with MAxDB 7.6 in x86_64 bit platform.

The installation aborted in the phase Start SCS Instance.

The User SIDADM cant access the dbmcli command in his environment (both root and sdb can start)

The log file of Startj2eedb shows the following lines:

RTE_CallSdbStarter(): Failed to change to indep data work path:/sapdb/data/wrk [13]

I tried accessing from SIDADM only gives the error.

Any solutions?

By the way I checked the SAP notes for compatability of x86_64 for RHEL 4 and I updated the kernel and memory,

Please check and make sure that the <SID>ADM user is member of the SDBA group.

Try the "id" command for this.

Hi,

I tried the ID command, and added the SIDADM to the sdba group in /etc/group

After that I'm getting Error.

RTE_CallSdbStarter(): Must be called by root or effective user 1003 effective group 606

where user 1003 is:sdb and 606 is sdba

Hi Rajan,

sounds odd - please run 'sdbverify' as root user and post the result if there are any errors/warnings.

Hi, I got the same error when I copied over the system. I did the following to correct

This error is due to following entry in file /etc/opt/sdb :-

Change entry SdbOwner=olduser to SdbOwner=newuser
